6. Early Cricketing Career:
In spite of having a degree in civil engineering, Madhwal decided to make a career in cricket. He started playing cricket with a tennis ball in Uttarakhand, and because of playing cricket with a tennis ball, Aakash became very accurate with his bowling and yorkers.
In 2018, he got an opportunity with the Uttarakhand Cricket Association. That is when his professional career started at the age of 24.
In 2019, he was noticed by former Indian opener Wasim Jaffar, who was then the coach of the Uttarakhand state team. After noticing him, Jaffar suggested he start bowling with the red ball. He joined the Uttarakhand state team and leveled up his bowling under the guidance of Manish Jha.
Aakash got the opportunity to play his first T20 match for his state in November 2019. He made his first-class debut just a month later, in December 2019. He had to wait for two years to make his List A debut for Uttarakhand, which he made in February 2021. He was appointed as the captain of Uttarakhand in the T20 format in 2023.

Aakash Madhwal was initially picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore as a net bowler in IPL 2021. In the IPL 2022 season, he was picked up as a backup by the Mumbai Indians but did not get a chance to play a single match in that season.
In 2023, Aakash Madhwal finally got an opportunity to play for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. In spite of not having a good start in IPL, Madhwal became one of the reliable bowlers for the Mumbai Indians as the season progressed, especially at the death.
