Ramandeep Singh was born on 13 April 1997 in Chandigarh, Punjab. Ramandeep’s father Hardev Singh was an international cyclist who went on to represent India in the Asian Games as well as the Asian Track Championships.

His father wanted Ramandeep to be a cyclist like him but Raman had no interest in the sport. Instead after seeing India lifting the T20 World Cup 2007, Ramandeep made up his mind to be a cricketer. His father and family supported him in his decision.

Ramandeep Singh started his cricketing journey at the age of 10 while he was in school. His father took him to coach Sukhwinder Tinku for cricket coaching. While doing his schooling Ramandeep started participating in many district and state-level tournaments. After years of hard work, he was allowed to play for Mohali under 16.

He scored two hundred in the Punjab inter-district tournament. Which helped him to earn a spot in Mohali under-19 team. Ramandeep played for the Mohali team in the Katoch Shield tournament. Later on, he continued to show his batting ability in under-23 tournaments as well. After his consistent performance at various levels, he finally got an opportunity to play for Punjab.

5. Domestic career:

Ramandeep made his first appearance for Punjab in a t20 match against Haryana on January 29 2017 in an inter-state tournament. He failed to make an impression in his debut match as he was dismissed for only 6 runs.

He was then given a chance for Punjab in list A format against Vidarbha in the 2019-20 Vijay Hazare trophy. However, Ramandeep did not get an opportunity to bat in his debut match. Ramandeep made his Ranji trophy debut against Bengal in the 2019-20 season.

He was dismissed on a duck in his debut innings but made an impressive 69 in the second innings of the same match.

Later on, Ramandeep worked hard on his batting and bowling and became a regular feature in Punjab’s lineup. He showcased his bowling ability in a match against Baroda where he took a brilliant hat trick in Vijay Hazare.  He showcased his hard-hitting power skills in a Sher -e Punjab t 20 match where he hit five consecutive sixes 

6. Ipl career:

Ramandeep Singh was picked by Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022 as a replacement for Surya Kumar Yadav. He was bought by Mumbai Indians at a base price of 20 lakh. He made his maiden IPL appearance on 9 April 2022 against royal challengers Bangalore.

He scored 13 runs off 6 balls in his debut match. He played 5 matches in the 2022 season scoring 45 runs at an average of 22.50. Apart from this he also picked up six wickets.

However, in the 2023 season, he did not get a chance to feature in a single match for the franchise, later on, he was released by the franchise before the 2024 IPL auction. In the 2024 IPL auction, he was picked by Kolkata knight riders at a base price of 20 lakh.
